Does anyone else find it quite difficult to figure out what to wear on formal occasions. Well, we have a wedding to attend just after Valentines day and what I had planned to wear doesn’t fit (I’m still paying for over indulging in December). With two weeks to go, I need to get my skates on and get my outfit sorted because it’s out of town. I’ve also been known to shop the day before an event, so trying to foster better habits in 2018!
In trying to figure out what to wear, I looked at the invitation for any suggestions on what to wear based on the programme, venue, and timings. There is no dress code, but there are some clues on the type of wedding – I figure it will be a relaxed affair.
The next thing to think about is what the weather is likely to be and boy oh boy am I fed up with winter! The British weather is just doing the most! On one hand, we’ve had very rainy and super cold days, others have been mild – almost springlike, and yet on other days we’ve had all the above. Typical!!! With an evening reception and an unpredictable weather pattern, I need to be cosy without looking like the michelin man! Stylish layering will be key.
Finally I’m thinking about a colour scheme for my outfit. I have recently found myself reaching for pastel pinks, mink, and monochrome outfits and have decided to stick with these shades. I suppose they are brighter than what would be normally worn in winter, but it is a happy ocassion, I feel most feminine in these colours and we are transitioning to spring (or so I hope!).
Naturally, I went straight to ASOS because I love the ease of shopping with them. I started off at their wedding section, and then found a couple of bits in other sections. Here’s my edit of what I would wear.
Jumpsuits
Dress
Skirts
Tops/bodysuits
Outerwear
Shoes
Accessories
What did you think of my selections? What would you wear?
